Squid Soliloquy

I got the idea for this comic when I wondered what it would be like to be an octopus.

Or be forced to look at Comic Sans

Sorry sorry sorry. I will do my absolute best not to ever do that again; that being vanishing for a week. I currently plan to back-log-fill all those missed updates, and I tell you if that plan changes.

Not octopi... ...octopodes. (It's Greek.) Or octopuses.

But practically all (American, at least) English speakers call them octopi. So which is correct, the etymological root or the colloquial use? It's the same issue with "irony", really.
(The greater issue here is, of course, that despite the title this comic involves neither squids nor soliloquies.)

Hey.

Hey.

Don't insult my alliteration. It's hard to get that to work.

That's a lovely drawing of an octopus, by the way.

You kids with your Cephlapods and your Copy Pasta. What hijinks will you be up to next?

Also that is an excellent drawing of an octupus. Was it freehand?

Yeah, I was so proud of the job I did with it that I wanted everyone to see it four times.

Actually octopuses have no tentacles. Octopi have eight arms, Squid have eight arms and two tentacles, while the cuttlefish also have eight arms and two tentacles. I still like the comic strips though, it's not anyone’s fault that the public is misinformed on the subject.

Well they ain't legs.

(But thank you.)

Ohoho, this is epic. Nice choice of words Mr. Octopus.

So in many cases "tentacle rape" is actually "arm rape"... doesn't have the same ring to it...
